Saint-Gobain Acquires Plastic Manufacturer

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation (SGPPL) is pleased to announce that is has acquired the assets of J & J Scientific Products, Inc. in Tampa, FL, a privately owned manufacturer of single-use (disposable) plastic products for the biopharmaceutical market. The acquisition was final February 8. Terms were not disclosed.
J & J, which has 20 workers, will be integrated into SGPPL’s Fluid Systems division. From its single manufacturing location in Tampa, J & J makes manifold systems, flask closure systems, flask and bottle assemblies, and tubing end assemblies, used by biopharmaceutical manufacturers in research, development and production.
“We are pleased to welcome J & J to the Saint-Gobain family,” said Tom Kinisky, President of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. “The J & J product line is very complimentary to our existing biopharmaceutical line, which includes products sold under the Sani-tech®, PharMed®, Tygon® and C-Flex® brand names.”
